Department of Radiology
INTRODUCTION
The Department of Radiology and Imaging at Liaquat National Hospital has been at the forefront in quality imaging services for the past decade. We were the first in introducing CT Scans in Pakistan in the year 1984 and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in the country, first on a 0.2 Tesla and then on a Toshiba Visart Scanner. We are routinely performing whole body scanning as well as specialized scanning such as Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) and Magnetic Resonance Cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) which are non-interventional procedures and do not require intravenous contrast injection.

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES
The unit takes active part in research, conferences and postgraduate training with other national institutes. The unit also takes part in infection and control activities within the hospital and the country.
