INTRODUCTION
Psychiatry is a growing field of organized medicine. The department of psychiatry at LNH is committed to keep up with the modern developments in this area and provide our patients with psychiatric care as per the international standards.
Psychiatric care at LNH aims to provide Psychiatric services to the patients from all walks of life. Efforts are made to provide patients and their families with adequate support in the familiar environment of their homes.
SERVICES
Out-Patient Services:
Conducted under the direct supervision of Consultant Psychiatrists.
Walk-in OPDs – Conducted from 9 am – 1 pm
Evening Appointment Clinics - from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Child and Adolescent Guidance Clinic:
Psychometric and Attitude testing, counseling services for children and adolescents. It is first of its kind in the town.

Marital Counseling
Family Counseling
Career Counseling
In-patient Services:
Psychiatric HDU comprises of a 10 - bedded in-patient unit with additional patients being admitted in the General, Special and Executive wards. Our main aim is to rehabilitate the patients as early as possible.
ECT:
Modified Electro Convulsing Therapy of international standards, provided under direct supervision of Consultant Psychiatrists and Anesthesiologists.
Specialized Clinics include:
Depot / Clozapine clinic
Stress management clinic
Drug addiction clinic
Post partum depression clinic
Occupational Therapy clinic
ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES
LNH psychiatry department is recognized by the College of Physicians and Surgeons for postgraduate training. Postgraduate teaching activities include case conferences, journal club, seminars etc. The department is also actively involved in conducting clinical researches in order to provide better awareness regarding mental health illnesses. Over the last one year two scientific papers are published in PMDC / HEC recognized journals. Department of Psychiatry also contributes regularly to CMEs and community education.
Top PUBLIC AWARENESS
Public Awareness:
The Department is making an active contribution to create awareness about psychiatric illnesses in general public to reduce the STIGMA. The department is also working with other disciplines for early identification and management of psychiatric morbidities to decentralize.
