Department of Vascular Surgery
INTRODUCTION
Vascular Surgery is a relatively new and rare specialty in our country and the department of Vascular Surgery at LNH is one of its only kinds in private sector.
The department is now almost 10 years old and provides full range of vascular services to the community round the clock.
Dr.Kamal M. Yousuf is a full time vascular surgeon who did his FRCS and trained in United Kingdom.
SERVICES
The Department deals with complex vascular injuries including road traffic accidents, bullet injuries, bomb blast injuries etc. Stroke is related to high B.P Diabetes, smoking and one reason of stoke is blockage of Carotid arteries to which supplies blood to brain. It operates on these patients and open the carotid arteries to reestablish blood flow to brain(Carotid Endortereetomy)
It also deals with aortic aneurysms, Vertebral and Sublavian artery Occlusive disease, Revnond;s and Buergers disease. Chronic renal failure is common in our country.A-V Fistula or bridge graft is frequently required in these patients.
The department offers full range of cover for A-V Fistula, graft and dialysis related problems.It also deals with venous disease like DVT, varicose vein, leg ulcers and arterio-venous malformations.
