Curriculum |
Keeping in view the general education objectives of PM&DC and in accordance with directives of Government of Pakistan, the course at the LNMC would be Community Oriented with emphasis on integration and adoption of holistic approach.
With rapid advances in biomedical knowledge and technology providing new insights into the causes and mechanisms of diseases and offering novel treatment strategies, today’s curriculum can not be confined to any stringent document. To ensure that LNMC graduates will be fully equipped to meet the continuous expansion of biomedical knowledge, the faculty has developed a curriculum that caters to the needs of our community and is according to the guidelines provided by the PM&DC and the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. The main thrust of this curriculum during the first Two years of study will be on a thorough knowledge of basic sciences with integration of relevant basic science information in context to appropriate disease processes. Overall the curriculum will aim to produce graduates with sufficient level of medical knowledge and clinical skills to be highly competent medical practitioners, who will be effective House Officers on graduation and have a capacity for further training to be proficient general practitioners or specialists.

Research
Research would be an integral part of the course and would be fully supported by a well-equipped learning resource center and laboratory facilities. We feel that an early introduction to research methodology is imperative and the students would be supported by well-trained supervisors conducting these projects.
