Admission for MBBS Program
Criteria for Application | Application Requirement | Examination / Graduation Requirements

LNMC is open to all persons without any discrimination of sex, religion, race, creed, color or domicile who are academically qualified for admission to the courses of study offered.

Admission to the MBBS program is based on academic merit and performance in LNMC Admission test. Short listed candidates will be evaluated further on the basis of interviews.

A high academic score in any single discipline or any outstanding achievement alone is not sufficient for selection.

Criteria for Application Top
    A. Local Candidates

    - Intermediate Science HSSC (Pre-Medical group)
    (Annual and Supplementary Examination, securing least 60% marks overall)

Important:

    Ten (10) marks will be deducted from the total marks secured by those who have passed their intermediate (Pre-Medical) examination in Annual or Supplementary Examination.
B. Overseas Candidates


As per PM&DC eligibility criteria for overseas students, to appear in the entry test of MBBS or BDS in Pakistan.


  • Out of three science subjects Biology and Chemistry are essential subjects.The 3rd science subject could be Physics or Mathematics.

  • Candidates need to submit SAT II examination score with minimum 550 marks in each subject, i.e. Chemistry, Biology, Physics/Mathematics.

  • Valid TOEFL or IELT with a score of 500 or 5.5 .

Equivalent examination securing at least 60% marks.


Important :

The candidate is responsible to clear his/her case through the IBCC, Islamabad for recognition of his/her qualification and the Equivalence Certificate must be attached with the application form before the closing date.


Note: Candidates awaiting results can also apply with letter of institution.


The Chairman Admission Committee reserves the right to scrutinize the educational documents of applicants if any discrepancy is found. In such cases, the matter will be referred back to the IBCC for consideration in the light of discrepancy.

Application Requirement Top
  • Application forms along with Prospectus can be obtained on payment of mandatory non-refundable application fee of Rs: 1500/- (including Entrance Test Fee) for local seats and 50$ for foreign seats.

  • Application for admission must be on the prescribed application form, along with the following supporting documents duly attested by a Government Servant of BPS-18 or above.

  • 4 photocopies of Matriculation Certificate or 10th Grade / O-level equivalent Certificate issued by IBCC.

  • 4 photocopies of Matriculation Mark sheet or transcripts of 10th Grade / O-level equivalent Certificate issued by IBCC.

  • 2 photocopies of Intermediate Science (HSSC) Pre-Medical Mark sheet or equivalent Certificate 12th Grade / A-level equivalent Certificate issued by IBCC and transcript of the same.

  • 4 recent photographs (2 attested on front and 2 attested on back) bearing candidates name on the back of each photograph.

  • Any other document in original state can be demanded at any time as per requirement of the case of the individual.

  • 5 affidavit / undertaking in original and attested by the Judicial Magistrate on Rs: 20/- stamp paper as per specimen given in appendix I, II, III, IV and V (if admitted).

  • Two photocopies of candidate’s National Identity Card, if the candidate has attained the age of eighteen years, or ‘B’ form if He/She is below the age of eighteen years.

Incomplete forms shall be rejected; Document will not be accepted after the closing date.


Note:

The applications for admission to 1st year MBBS shall be invited through an advertisement in the press mentioning the last date of receiving such applications. Any application received after the date shall not be considered. The application shall have to be submitted personally against a receipt. Applicants for seats for overseas Pakistanis may however apply and send their applications by courier service or registered post.

Examination / Graduation Requirements Top

The students will be assessed with periodic internal and Annual University Professional examinations.

  • At the end of the each year there will be a University Professional MBBS examination conducted by the University of Karachi.

  • No students will be allowed to sit for the University examination if his/her cumulative score in the continuous internal assessment during the year is less than 50%.

  • Subject to Para 2 above students will be promoted to the next higher class unless he/she passes all the subjects of the Professional University examination as laid down in PM&DC rules.

  • Any student who fails to clear the first professional Part-I and Part-II (Part A and Part B) MBBS examination in three chances in each year (availed or un-availed) shall cease to be eligible for further medical education.

  • No student shall be permitted to appear in any examination unless he/she has attended 75% of the lectures, demonstrations, tutorials, practical and clinical work.

  • A candidates who is not allowed to appear in any examination may, however, be permitted to appear at the subsequent examination, if he/she completes the requisite number of attendance of the lecture and practical as per rules of the PM&DC.

  • There shall not be more than two examinations (Annual and Supplementary) in a year for each professional year or class. The month of examination shall be fixed by the University of Karachi which shall be strictly followed.
