About School of Physiotherapy

The Liaquat National School of physiotherapy is a living proof of what can be achieved through dedication and selfless devotion to a cause: very humble beginning in 1982 and today one of the best facility of its kind. The school started its academic career with two-year Diploma course in physiotherapy Which took shape of full time Degree course which is affiliated with University Of Karachi and multiple International Universities and International Physiotherapy Societies in 1992. The pioneer batch of Liaquat National School of physiotherapy Graduated in the year 1195-96. The existing course was restructured and upgraded By the addition of one year.

The idea behind that was to equip the students with the knowledge of other medical Sciences and inculcate the sense of professional integrity. Presently the school runs a, 4 year bachelor degree course in physical therapy and rehabilitation.

Today physiotherapy is no more a generalize professional but has multiple specialties. Forfurther improvement in quality of physiotherapy services and to convert skilled human resource into professional human resource and to keep at part with international standards of physical health care ,a continuous process of education, planning and management is needed .to improve further , a two year master in physical therapy has been introduced of international standard .the master of physiotherapy course at the L.N.S.O.P enables qualified and experienced clinicians to broaden and deepen their theoretical and clinical skill.

The course recognize the need to adopt principles of adult learning and emphasizing the importance of facilitating graduates to develop independent, self-direct and critical philosophies. to achieve these outcomes, teaching and learning focuses on problem based learning with exchange of knowledge by its participants .the student’s clinical expertise become the starting point from which clinical reasoning and manual skills are enhanced.
