The Faculty, Staff, Administration, Students & Alumni of Liaquat National Medical College, Pakistan are profoundly grieved by the Sad demise of Prof. Amir Ali Shoro, Ex Principal & Dean & Director Faculty of Health Sciences, LNH&MC. Prof. Shoro did his MBBs in 1961, M. Phil in 1965 & Ph. D. in 1972. In recognition of his contribution in the subject of Anatomy, he was awarded honorary fellowship by the College of Physician & Surgeons Pakistan in 1990 & National Academy of Medical Sciences in 1998. He was also awarded Sitara-E-Jung for the volunteering with the Army Medical Corps. Prof. Shoro joined LNH&MC in 2006 as Dean, Basic Medical Sciences & retired in 2017 as Principal & Dean, LNMC and Director Faculty of health Sciences, LNH&MC. The college owes an immense debt of gratitude to Prof. Amir Ali Shoro for building it up from scratch and taking it to where it is today that is the most sought after private medical college of Karachi. In bringing the college to its current position, Dr. Shoro continued to be a friend and guide to his students and his colleagues. He was always ready to listen to all who came in contact with him and offer sound advice & guidance. His staff went to him not just for professional advice but for personal too. There are innumerable instances of love, support and care extended to his students who adored him, his faculty who respected him & his staff who looked up to him. What more would one want in a lifetime? He certainly made the most of endowment of time. Dr. Shoro’s work ethics were exemplary. He was well versed in poetry and could add to discourse on any & all topics showing how well read and versatile he was. We shall miss him and his uniqueness & continue to love and remember him. Farewell Sir you shall continue to be remembered with love and respect.
